Orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) is a nonspecific granulomatous inflammation presenting as facial or lip swelling, cheilitis, ulcerations, gingival enlargement, mucosal tags and sometimes lymphadenopathy. Commonly it presents as a persistent or recurrent lip swelling, thus the term Cheilitis Granulomatosa (CG) .
A condition characterized by persistent or recurrent labial enlargement, ORAL ULCER, and other orofacial manifestations in the absence of identifiable CROHN DISEASE; or SARCOIDOSIS. Orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) is an increasingly recognized entity. The exact aetiology of OFG is not clear and therefore the precise treatment and long‐term prognosis, remain uncertain. This paper is a succinct review of OFG, which highlights the challenges in determining the precise cause, in diagnosis and in developing effective therapy.
